A History of Humble Beginnings
From 1 Trash Truck to 5 Million Square Feet of Real Estate
BLT Enterprises has humble roots as a waste management company founded in 1984 by Bernie Huberman and Dan Rosenthal. They started by driving a waste truck in the 1970s and the entrepreneurial team quickly began acquiring, developing, and operating the company’s own waste management facilities.
Bernie and Dan used their experience in logistics and growing this specialized business to invest in other forms of real estate—from their first spec industrial development in 1996, to developing, acquiring, owning, and managing over 5 million square feet of commercial property.

Bernie and Dan served at the helm of BLT Enterprises together for the next several decades, building a legacy that will continue to impact their families, the community, and the real estate industry for generations to come. Although Bernie passed away in 2021, the lessons of his leadership are, and always will be, at the heart of everything BLT does.
His legacy is one of continuous learning, generosity, innovation, seeing the glass half-full, and always striving to raise the bar. It is the groundwork and ongoing inspiration he provides that drives BLT to achieve sustainable, lasting value for the company, employees, tenants, partners, and the communities we are fortunate to operate in.
